MURAK RAI TIMOR INVITES THE MANATUTO MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HAKANEK RAI CULTURAL CEREMONY IN BE-HAU
Manatuto, 19 June 2026 β Representing the President of the Manatuto Municipal Authority, Mrs. Domingas Gilpia participated in the traditional cultural ceremony βHakanek Raiβ, organized by Murak Rai Timor, E.P. (MRT) in Be-Hau Village, Uma Caduac Suco, Laclo Administrative Post, Manatuto Municipality.
According to an official invitation letter sent by MRT to the President of the Manatuto Municipal Authority, Mr. LuΓs InΓ‘cio Henriques Fernandes, the activity forms part of the process of implementing licenses for the exploration and assessment of marble resources within the project area.
The ceremony was conducted in accordance with local customs and cultural traditions to seek blessings and harmony for the exploration and development activities planned in the area. The event was organized by traditional leaders and the local community with support from MRT.
In addition, MRT informed the Municipal Public Works Service of Manatuto about its plan to install a cover ditch at the entrance to its concession area in Ilimanu Village, Umakaduak Suco, Laclo Administrative Post.
According to information provided by the company, the infrastructure will facilitate transportation access and the mobilization of operational equipment during exploration and project development activities, while also ensuring the safety of road users and the maintenance of the public drainage system.
Relevant authorities will continue coordinating with stakeholders to ensure that all activities and project implementation are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations and technical procedures.
